Monday, October 16[J] Emily & Aaron came over for dinner again tonight and brought with them the newest addition to our family, a beautiful used dryer which seems to my eyes to be made of solid gold. We spent a pleasant couple hours together, and after they left we managed (amazingly) to fit most everything back into the pantry with the dryer in place. After three years of doing laundry elsewhere, we are very excited to be able to accomplish this essential function at home and retain our sense of self. In gloomier news, we learned that the expected high-speed internet activation will not happen until Wednesday because we are at a "remote location," which seems like a rediculous reason for a delay given the fact that our whole complex was wired by Qwest for Qwest DSL. I must say that a broken promise is not the best start to our relationship with our new provider, but we look forward nonetheless to the convenience of balancing our bank accounts, checking email, *posting more frequent blog updates*, and doing schoolwork from the convenience of our home. Why, the gas savings alone will be staggering!

Isaac's neurological function increases daily. His motor skills, once merely gross, are finer every day. He has begun to purposefully move objects to his mouth and gnaw on them; just a short time ago, it took a lot of effort for him to coordinate his movements, much like a little train moving its way laboriously up a hill. Now, he is cresting the hill and picking up steam and speed. Chew chew!
